ART

ArtTag is a game of inspiration and collaboration played by artists.  It’s a little like the kids’ game of ‘telephone’ except instead of words, art is made and delivered to the next artist.  As a group we decide on themes, like ‘water’, ‘censorship’ or ‘identity’ and, after 3 works are made, we gather and see what connections there are and which were missed. It’s a delight to receive another artists' work and to get to live with it for 6 weeks but also it hones our skills in communicating thru art, packing art to mail, and meeting deadlines.  Art is a solitary pursuit and here we have a chance to work with others and of course, it’s fun.  Most of the work produced is show-worthy, some is rough and some are flat-out fails, but all of it is interesting as a peek into how an artist’s mind works.
